Selected Works
Not every idea becomes a long series. Some arrive, ask for attention, and leave behind a small group of paintings that stand on their own.
These works explore houses, dreams, memory, aging, objects, and moments that captured my imagination. Though varied in subject, they share a common desire to look closely at the world and discover what lies beneath its surface.
Together, they reflect the many paths a painting can take and the questions that have accompanied me throughout my years in the studio.

We reach for it every morning.
That first chosen object we hold, drink from, dawdle over as we enter a new day. Handmade of clay or porcelain, it awaits us, familiar, comforting, glad to be held.

This Bark paper made by indigenous people of Mexico was originally intended for religious purposes. Having soaked and glued it to shape sculptural forms, whether abstract or representational, the material holds a spiritual presence.
On white canvas, painted here and there, are knitted yarn, rice papers, doilies and lace, woven and glued into an exotic tangle of whites.
