Water Close-Up & Reflections
Open water can be nature's inviting mirror of tranquility, a sanctuary to linger beside, or it can turn to a treacherous turbulence, terrifying and real. These paintings begin at the water's edge, where observation, memory, and atmosphere merge. Painted both on location and in the studio from enlarged and deliberately transformed photographs, the works explore reflection as both a visual and emotional experience. Water becomes a vessel for memory, light, and passing time. Nowhere is so vivid as what holds in paint.
